David Conway, LCSW

My focus is working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My passion is being a part of helping people learn better and more effective ways of communicating. Watching them communicate and work through their issues in a way they have never done before is why I enjoy couples and family therapy. I have worked with children who have difficult behaviors for several years, so I have a great understanding of the support parents need in order to cope with their child’s struggles. I also treat areas of grief, adjustments, depression, anxiety, anger, and other mental health related issues and personality disorders.

I believe that we need an environment of support, understanding and unconditional acceptance to heal and grow. Therefore my first focus in counseling is on developing a relationship of trust and understanding with my clients. My second focus is strength. We are holistic beings. Each of us has many strengths, some of which we may not even have discovered yet. Thirdly, my focus is pragmatic & positive. I see my clients as people who have the desire to heal and grow. I believe focus on the past is only helpful in the context of providing practical, positive solutions for the future.

I also honor multicultural and spiritual impact on the individuals I serve. I have counseled clients of many different religious and cultural backgrounds and honor all beliefs as equal attempts of finding truth and meaning. Our experiences and differences deserve to be discovered and celebrated.

I work with adults, teenagers, families, and couples. I especially enjoy working with young children through use of play therapy. Other areas of interest include anxiety, depression, grief, terminal illness, sexual identity, functional, healthy living with a focus on nutrition, exercise and wellness.
