SERVICES AND PROGRAMS WE OFFER

Referral and Information Services
The Mental Health Association of Southwest Florida assists anyone needing referrals to mental health services and/or other social services, and provides information related to mental health issues.

Divorce Education
Putting Children First, a four-hour, court mandated class for parents designed to raise awareness of the emotional trauma the break-up of a family can cause children. It helps parents understand that children have the right and need to have, to be with and to love both parents. This program provides support to divorcing families and assists in the restructuring of the family system.

Families In Transition, a four-hour court recommended class designed to assist children between the ages of 5 and 14 in understanding their feelings as changes occur in their family situations. A puppet show is used for children 5 to 8 years to help them understand and express their feelings, and help them cope with their fears.

One Child/Adult at a Time
One Child at a Time, One Adult at a Time, is a one of its kind counseling program in Southwest Florida linking child and adults who are in need for mental health services and have no insurance or financial resources with mental health professionals who offer pro bono services.

Families and Schools Together (FAST)
FAST is an outreach and multi-family group process to help children succeed at home, in school, and in society. Research shows that children have been able to overcome adversity, if they have caring supportive family and community relationships.

Teen Advisory Board

This board meets once a month during the school year to evaluate feedback from the student population.
